Torn Taffeta

Jewels from head to toe.
Taffeta drapes against the floor.
Colorful, voluptuous,
A princess at their door.

Walks with grace and elegance.
Poised for every moment.
As the sunlight hits her jewels, her reflection fills the room.

The eyes of those in waiting are bright with awe and wonder.
Their stares are possessing, filling the princess with merriment.

Though when she sees herself alone,
The beast behind her bejeweled veil rears it’s ugly face.
Her dress is torn, her heels forlorn.
After all, her Cinderella moments gone.
